"Singin' In The Rain"

Today I’ll be commenting on one of if not the best musicals ever made, “Singin’ In The Rain” starring Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor, and Debbie Reynolds. The movie was released in April of 1952 and has a running time of 1 hour and 43 minutes.

The basic plot is Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) and Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) are two popular silent film stars working on their latest movie “The Dueling Cavalier”. While Lockwood barely tolerates his prima-donna co-star, Lamont believes that they are in love just because the studios say so. Of course it would not be a good musical unless there was a good love story somewhere in it. Enter aspiring actress and chorus girl Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds). After a couple of mishaps, they begin to fall in love. After a new movie that “talks” comes out and is loved by the money paying public, the studio…
